Romance

Reader review:
“I believe that you don’t just read Wuthering Heights, you live it.”
Reader review:
“What truly sets Twilight apart is the unconventional love story between Bella and Edward, a centuries-old vampire. Meyer’s portrayal of this forbidden romance is both tender and intense, exploring themes of acceptance, sacrifice, and the power of true love. It’s a love story that transcends boundaries and captivates readers of diverse ages and backgrounds.”
Reader review:
“Oh gosh this story of emotional turmoil won`t let you leave it alone. You will say ‘okay, just one more chapter’ then six later you have to sleep, but then on waking you reach for the book again. It grips you so tightly you cannot let it go. Brilliant characters, brilliant detail, top class!”
Reader review:
“The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks is one of the most romantic stories ever told. The characters reach out and squeeze your heart, as if you are one of them.”
Reader review:
“I don’t even know where to begin with this review. For starters this book should have been sold with tissues, a comfort blanket and waterproof mascara. But regardless I absolutely loved Beckett and Ella’s story.”
Reader review:
“This is a wonderfully atmospheric book which draws you into a mesmeric world of beautiful landscapes medieval paintings war loss and love. The story lines of the four characters are captivating. The language is mellifluous and hypnotic.I could not stop reading this beautiful work.”
Reader review:
“For anyone who has known great love in their life but had it taken from them, either as a victim of circumstance or love cruelly taken away too soon, this book will be a bittersweet gut punch. The intensity of their love; how they completed one another; how their longing never ceased; but it was too late. They were too late. They never got over each other.”
Reader review:
“It has been referred to as the greatest love story of all time, or perhaps the most tragic. Romeo and Juliet serves to satisfy both anyway, which for a 1595 play has obviously stuck around for a very long time, which points to how good a book can turn out to be centuries after its author graced our good planet.”
Reader review:
“Pride and Prejudice is a remarkable and memorable book. It’s definitely a favorite and it is perfectly written. A beautiful romance. Jane Austen did it again! Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy were extremely well-written and developed in the book. They not only had great chemistry, they were absolutely perfect for each other! An outstanding book!”
Reader review:
“The letter always melts me.”
Reader review:
“This series changed my life. I cannot even begin to go into the details of how much I fell in love with the main characters.”
Reader review:
“It is very difficult to write something about a book that has been so hyped, discussed and praised the world over. As I discovered, Love Story is a poignant tale that touches your heart and leaves its imprint forever. We meet Oliver who narrates the whole experience as to how he met, loved and lost the most important person in his life, Jennifer.”
Reader review:
“A romance for the centuries: a love like no other, the loss, the meeting that was meant to be, the eternal hope, the passion that transcends age, love lost and found, pain, life, and the journeys that only those who love can embark on and understand.”
Reader review:
“Wow! I have never read a book that has inspired me enough to write a review so this is a first. Romance/erotic novels are not my thing. I have read them in the past but they bored me as they were too predictable. No so with this book. It was recommended to me by my sister and she enthused about it so much I thought I would give it a try and I am sooooo glad I did.”
Reader review:
“Oh my lord, it was beyond good; It is brilliant! I have to honestly say that it is one of the best books I have ever read. When I was half way through this novel and found out that it was a series, I felt like a little kid on Christmas Eve.”
Reader review:
“This book is many things. Sad, accurate, remorseful, hilarious, real. The characters are alive and you can feel them in your heart. You love them, feel with them, laugh with them, cry with them. This book is the most numbingly beautiful and energising experience you will have had for many years.”
Reader review:
“This book should carry a warning! Do not read unless you have a few days with nothing going on. It’s gauranteed you won’t be able to put this one down. The characters were believable and the story line heart wrenching at times. I loved it! A must read for all you romantics.”
Reader review:
“A great easy read set in paradise. A romance story with lots of twists and turns along the way. Really recommend!”

Reader review:
“Florence’s writing has truly changed my life, I wish there were books like this when I was a teenager.”

Reader review:
“This made me laugh out loud which never happens with books. Witty writing of an enemies to lovers story. Such an enjoyable read that I could not put down. One of my favourite books that I’ve read in a long long time.”
Reader review:
“Before I Let Go,’ is a compelling second chance romance story centred around a divorced couple whose world falls apart. It is tender, powerful, emotional, and so very authentic in the telling.”
Reader review:
“A truly magical book by a brilliant writer. A fantasy novel about a strong female healer/warrior. A really captivating read. You won’t want to put it down once you begin the story.”
Reader review:
“A beautiful written book about two characters Joel and Callie who, fall in love by chance? Fate? But as always, life can get in the way. What has happened to Joel to make him not commit ? When you find out the truth you’ll guarantee you’ll need some tissues. It’s a book where I laughed, smiled, cried and fell in love.”

Reader review:
“Wow what a rollercoaster ride. Such an amazing, intense, breathtaking book. You will feel every emotion going whilst reading this. Childhood sweethearts that sadly got separated, find each other when they’re older. Jake being a huge successful, but troubled rockstar and Tru, a journalist, who is sent to interview him, and boy do the sparks fly when they meet again. You won’t want to put the book down once you start reading it. Samantha will have you falling in love with Jake in no time…. But get in the very long line, he’s mine 😜.”

Reader review:
“I was gifted this book for a Christmas present a few years ago and have read the whole series since. There is something about Anton’s writing style which keeps you wanting more as it feels like he is the narrator taking the reader into the pages of his book and guiding you through the glitz, glamour and secrets of early 20th century London. No matter who you are (any age, gender or social class) you will relate to at least one character and be swept away by the magic and nostalgia of these stories. Pure escapism!”
Reader review:
“This is an excellent romance. But not a fluffy one. It tackles tough topics while balancing flirting and steam.”

Reader review:
“If you are a fan of witty observational modern writing, read this book. If you don’t think you’re a fan of romantic and tender modern comedy (think ‘When Harry Met Sally’, ‘Notting Hill’) read this book anyway, because it’s that and much more than that.”

Reader review:
“Very well crafted, carefully paced, and engagingly plotted. If you are up for a gentle, thoughtful read with a bit of a clever underscore, then I hope you will enjoy this as much as I did.”

Reader review:
Really enjoyed this!! Sweet story, likeable characters, happy endings. I would definitely recommend this to any other rom-com lovers.”

Reader review:
“I have literally just finished reading this book and I can not believe the amount of emotions I had throughout. Wow.”

Reader review:
I find it really hard to find books that are both well written and have an interesting enough plot to make me want to keep reading them, but this achieved both. I loved the rawness of it – gritty realism put into poetic prose.”

“Heart wrenching and wonderful in equal measures.” – @sharrondovey via our Instagram.

Polly Babbington book cover Boat House Pretty Beach

Reader review:
The whole Pretty Beach series is amazing escapism. I started reading them when I was in hospital being induced – which took a week. I was completely hooked and read them all through the long breastfeeding nights.”

Who's that Girl by Mhairi McFarlane book cover

Reader review:
Mhairi McFarlane is the queen of the smart rom-com, and this is one of her very best. Witty, smart, romantic and genuinely laugh out loud funny, it also explores deeper issues of grief and complicated family dynamics.”

Before We Were Strangers book cover
Reader review:
“Once I started this book I knew I wouldn’t be able to stop until I knew how Matt & Grace’s story ended. It was everything I didn’t know I needed. This is such a beautiful story about circumstances, timing, communication, and love. It has me stunned with how much I love this book. Like I seriously wanted to turn it over & start again. This will be a book I’ll be coming back to.”
JoJo Moyes The Giver of Stars book cover
Reader review:
“I loved the way, against all the odds, the women worked together. The author touched my emotions and more than once I had to wait until my eyes cleared of tears to continue reading. Throughout the book I wasn’t sure what the ending would be, so that added to the story for me. I heartily recommend it.”

“This book grabbed me from page 1 and kept me hooked until the end. I read it in one sitting, it was so good. Its a classic love story on one level and yet there’s so much more in the depth of the story. It made me laugh, cry and want to fly to Methoni immediately.”
One Last Letter from Greece book cover
Reader review:
“I loved this book. I saw a lot of mixed reviews about it but in my opinion it was just what we needed for this story. It all feels very realistic and I like that it picked up exactly where it ends with us left off. I think it was great in giving us closure to this story to know that Lily can be happy.”

“I couldn’t put it down – finished reading it within 48 hours, so now I need to read it once more – slowly – to enjoy it the second time around, on its many levels. This is the work of a writer who thinks and feels and narrates with honesty, sensitivity, and great creative power.”

Reader review:
“I’ve never read a series of books so quickly and so vividly- just glorious books and counting down the days until the last and final book comes out ❤️.”

Reader review:
“I have never cried this much at a book. I don’t know what I was expecting when I read this, but it sure as hell wasn’t this – this is not a romance novel. I am still crying an hour after finishing. They are now happy tears, but they were sad tears. What a story. (Potential triggers: abuse, rape, suicide.)”
