We are so grateful to award-winning Swedish photojournalist, Paul Hansen for allowing us to share his work on our March Edition cover, to raise awareness of what is happening on the ground in Ukraine. As a staff photographer for the daily newspaper Dagens Nyheter, Paul covers events whether it is in Haiti, Bosnia, Afghanistan – or back home in Sweden, and there is always one common denominator that links his work together; empathy.
When we can’t seem to find the words, Charlie Mackesy’s powerful yet comforting illustrations always seem to find the perfect way to articulate what adults and children may be struggling to understand.

She turned to the sunlight
And shook her yellow head,
And whispered to her neighbour:
“Winter is dead.”
