With party season officially in full swing and multiple dates in your social diary…
…I only thought it was right to come up with some tips and tricks for updating your existing wardrobe with some simple, inexpensive additions meaning you don’t need to fork out on a whole new outfit!

You can’t go wrong with a bit of bling at Christmas…or any social occasion in fact, and the High Street is full of sparkles. I love this Amazon, Rhinestone Cross Body Bag in Silver, £26.99. It’s great for dressing up a little black dress or adding some bling to a jean and simple knit. It is literally like walking around with your very own disco ball and who doesn’t want that in their festive life?!
Statement jewellery is a great way of breathing some life into a recycled outfit. There are lots of great options around, but a fail-safe and more wearable suggestion would be to go for a statement earring, and running on the theme of ‘Christmas sparkle’ Zara have a great pair of Cascade Rhinestone Earrings, £17.99 drop earrings with black surround.
Another game changer is to add a belt – and not just any old belt – but a diamante chainmail belt! For me, it’s all about this H&M, Rhinestone Waist Belt, £29.99! Cinch in the waist of your old faithful LBD or jumpsuit, or belt some jeans to add that Christmas sparkle into your day to day wardrobe.
If none of the above is tickling your fancy and you’re looking to keep your look more on the simpler side, adding some sparkle to your footwear is a brilliant but subtle way of adding some sparkle to your look. These Office, Honor Strappy Two Part Stiletto Heels, £59.99 have just enough bling to update your look. They’re great for the festive season but are also a style that isn’t going anywhere soon, so you’ll get plenty of wear out of them!
Another way you can have some fun with your favourite LBD is some sparkly tights! The High Street have versions everywhere, but I love these Pretty Little Thing, Nude Diamante Statement Fish Net Tights, £12. Gone are the days of silver threads…now we have diamante embellished tights on offer.
And last, by no means least – for a little secret sparkle – give your underwear a boost with these Mango, Panties with Strass Detail, £22.99 from their collaboration with Camille Charrière. I mean who doesn’t covert diamante edged panties!
