Adele, Katy Perry, Emma Watson and Gwen Stefani have all credited Saturn Return with a major shake-up in their lives. Discover what it can mean for you as WYLDE MOON astrologer Hagan Fox explains all.
Have you heard of Saturn Return? It is the just about THE most famous term (amongst astrologers at least) and one that has led many people to check out their impending birthdays for answers.
Let me explain exactly why Saturn can have us astro kids running for the hills, asking who we are, what should we be doing and what really makes us happy?
Simply put, Saturn is the king, the teacher, the overlord. He is the boss of the universe, of karma and life as we know it.
What happens when we disobey the boss? Well, we all know the answer to that one and we all know it can be the sorriest of outcomes.
He makes a return to exactly the same place in the sky that he was when we were born just three times in our lives – if we are lucky. It happens when we are 28-30, 57-59 and 86-88 and the transit can take up to two and a half years.
Saturn, and his karmic demands, underpins and drives each and every one of us and we don’t even know it. His job is basically to make sure we are doing what we are supposed to. It is an MOT to check that we are where we should be in life – a massive wake up call.
But how does he do that? If things in life aren’t happening as they should, if you are on the wrong path in any aspect of your life you will really feel it. It can be a time of huge reflection and can ultimately be an opportunity for positive change.
If you do as Saturn decrees he’ll see you right. Play Saturn’s game and use it to forge a life that is well-lived. You can learn from your mistakes and face up to when you have made the wrong decisions – whether that is at work, in relationships or attitude to life.
Saturn rules Karma, that’s a fact, and Karma watches your every last move. But, when you close the front door on the universe, you do precisely that, you don’t see or hear the messages it has been trying to send you.
“Play Saturn’s game and use it to forge a life that is well-lived”
So when Saturn pays you a visit for your Saturn return, he is inspecting your 29 year school report. How have you performed, how have you treated and approached life over those preceding 29 years? Have you thought about your destiny and have you made the most of opportunities and changes? What decisions have you made?
Be assured, you’ll sure as hell find out during the next 2 years as every part of your life is scrutinised.
Karma understands that life impacts us all, and some through no fault of their own are living a life that makes them unhappy and are unable to change it. But, Karma recognises that those of us who have the wherewithal to ‘redress’ and decide not to, are the ones Saturn frowns upon and the ones he can give a hard time to. Which is why a time of Saturn return can feel like a rocky old ride to get us back on track.
One way of getting through a Saturn return is to do right by others, give more in any given day than we take…no bleating here, Saturn ain’t listening. It is within most of us, to wake and to give and to consider. But it doesn’t mean we can’t still have fun, bag that promotion, spoil ourselves and have a good old time. Just look at where you find your joy.
I’m a Dragon, the Dragon loves to play, every damned day. I learnt the hard way, I learnt that you absolutely can play every day, but first make sure that everyone else who you care about and cherish are ok. Moreover, Saturn and karma adore unsolicited kindness to strangers, simple unrequited gestures of kindness and thoughtfulness to people we don’t know and will probably never see again. That touches the rarely seen soul of Saturn. It makes Saturn (and karma) extremely happy. And, if we make Saturn happy, he will merrily clear our path and even guide us down the correct one.
We, as human beings, complicate life in the most absurd, infuriating fashion which Saturn observes from the comfort, peace and tranquillity of the objective universe that is the 4th dimension, the one he controls.
The point is Saturn is not asking you to change your persona, we are who we are and we ain’t perfect and Saturn knows it. But he demands kindness, thoughtfulness and a degree of discipline and common sense. So, we need to take time to think and notice if our life is really on the right track to make us and those around us happy.
Saturn loves to teach and the best teachers are often the toughest. They are the unforgiving ones, who simply want the best for you because they want you to be the ‘best’ version of yourself and will make you suffer a little in order to get you where they (and you) know you need to be.
Saturn may be painted as the bad guy (and make no mistake when Saturn is unhappy he can unleash the most hellish of scenarios.) but when we do right by Saturn he will do right by us. His demands are very straightforward.
The ‘happy ending’ is within all of us, it just takes the occasional SATURN RETURN to get us all back on track!
