It’s a sure sign that Christmas has started when you can make time to snuggle down and watch your favourite mood-boosting movie.
Part of the magic of Christmas is the traditions we share with family and friends. Songs we could sing in our sleep; obligatory matching PJ’s; snuggles on the sofa with a Baileys (hot chocolate for the kids); sharing a celebratory prosecco with the girls…even the smell of your favourite Christmas fragrance.
In fact, the cosy, nostalgic warmth of a childhood Christmas memory inspired our best-selling wax melt (borrowed from) Christmas 1985 with its captivating aromas of citrus and cinnamon.
At WYLDE MOON HQ, we’re all in agreement that one of the best things about getting Christmas ready is the guilt-free enjoyment of settling down to watch your favourite seasonal movie. It really doesn’t matter how many times you’ve seen it before.
Here’s a list of our favourites. Some are new, some old, some you’ve probably seen a hundred times and some you’ve maybe not yet had the pleasure!
Happy watching!
1. The Holiday
The Holiday came top of a lot of our lists! It’s a romantic, feel-good film that encapsulates that cosy Christmas feeling. It pulls on your heart strings, has you laughing out loud…and even makes you want to book a flight somewhere to live out your rom-com dreams. What’s not to love?!
2. Klaus
One of the more modern picks but an absolute-must watch for any age as it’s certainly not just for the kids. A heart-warming take on the story of how Father Christmas came to be. Pure genius!
3. It’s a Wonderful Life
A Christmas classic. Keep the tissues on hand for this one as it’s a tear-jerker. It’s a beautiful reminder of just how important each and every one of us is.

5. A Christmas Carol
There are so many versions from cartoons, Muppets, black and white classics and musicals. The Christmas film that even Scrooge would like. Take your pick.
6. Santa Claus the movie
A Christmas time staple without being sickly. One of those films you would have watched growing up and you then can watch again with your kids and love it just as much.
7. Krampus

*Warning, for adults only*
Another one for anyone looking for a scarier Christmas alternative. Gremlins offers the perfect combination of horror and comedy. This may surprise you as it becomes one of your watch-every-year films.
9. Die Hard
There seems to be an ongoing debate to whether this is a Christmas film, and in our eyes, it is. If you’re looking to start your festive film watching off with a bang, this would be the perfect film.
10. White Christmas
A Christmas musical filled with snow, shows and romance. Adored by many and once you watch it, you’ll know why. It’s not Christmas without it.
