We want you to enjoy your WYLDE MOON scented candles for as long as possible, so here are some essential tips from us and from Holly to make sure they continue to burn and continue to fill your home with beautiful fragrance.
1. What to know before you light your candle
We get it, you’ve got a brand new candle and you want to see what it smells like when it’s burning, and you want to see as soon as possible. But wait. Make sure you can burn your candle for at least two hours on its first burn, so that the wax burns evenly across the whole candle and doesn’t create any dips or start tunnelling.
Also, the WYLDE MOON candles begin with their wick cut to the perfect size, so there’s no need to trim before you light.
2. Every time you light it, cut the wick to 5mm
This prevents the wick billowing out thick smoke.
3. With the single wick candle, use your lid
This prevents dust from falling onto the wax and interfering with the fragrance
4. With the triple wick candle, make sure all three wicks are lit
Just like the first time you lit your candle, make sure that every time you burn it that the wax is melting in an even pool before you blow it out, so it will continue to burn evenly.
5. Watch out for rogue matches
If you use matches to light your candles, you’ll find that sometimes the ends snap off. If they land in your candle, retrieve them (safely) as soon as possible. Sometimes that piece of extra kindling can act as an additional wick and cause the candle to burn down unevenly.
6. Remember WYLDE MOON candle pots can be re-used!
