How to actually see an aura

Your own: Stand before a mirror in soft natural light with a plain light wall behind you. Soften your gaze and look just past your own outline rather than directly at yourself. Don’t force it. What often appears first is a thin band of light surrounding your body. With practice, colour begins to emerge; usually around the head and shoulders first.

Someone else’s: Ask them to stand against a plain light wall. Soften your gaze, look just past their outline and let your peripheral vision do the work. Slow breath. No straining.

The key in both cases is the same; soft eyes, slow breath, no forcing. It responds to receptivity, not effort. Which is perhaps the most fitting thing about it.

How to sense yours without seeing it

You don’t need to see it to feel it. Simply ask yourself honestly; how do I actually feel right now? Not how I’m presenting. How I genuinely am. What colour does that feeling carry? What does it remind you of; warmth, coolness, brightness, weight?

Your instinctive answer is more accurate than you think.

The thing worth remembering

Your aura is not your destiny. If it’s dim right now, that’s information; not a verdict. If it’s bright, that’s something to protect and tend to.

You are not fixed. You are not finished. You are a living, shifting, entirely unique field of energy moving through the world.
